Chick-fil-A Hosts Award Ceremony for Grant Winners

The Chick-fil-A Foundation hosted Lexington Leadership Foundation representatives along other 2017 True Inspiration Award winners in Atlanta during late May. Lexington was one of 22 grant winners awarded from the Southern Region.

Eric Geary, CEO, and Michael Overstreet represented Lexington for the black-tie event. Michael was a participant in LLF’s Urban Impact program during his teen years.  He is now in college pursuing a degree in intercultural studies and is an active volunteer in our children and youth programs.

Chick-fil-A customers nationwide helped select Lexington Leadership Foundation as a recipient of the 2017 True Inspiration Award. A mobile app allowed customers to vote for their favorite organization and nearly 76,000 nationwide did so. Those votes, combined with a strong application, resulted in LLF receiving $15,000 towards our work with children and youth in the Woodhill neighborhood.

Before opening voting to customers, the Chick-fil-A Foundation reviewed the applications and selected a list of finalists that demonstrated a commitment to supporting youth and education.

Thanks to everyone who voted!
