FCFI exists to empower fathers in the Lexington area


Fayette County Fatherhood Initiative

 

FCFI addresses three specific areas promoting responsible fatherhood:

Healthy Marriage

Responsible Fathering

Economic Stability

 

We also offer services for families in the following areas:

  • Counseling
  • Supportive Service and Assistance
  • Case Management
  • Peer Support Groups
  • Crisis Intervention Referral Services – Substance abuse, housing and education
  • Educational Workshops – Child support, visitation, legal rights and responsibilities
  • Coordination of citywide fatherhood activies, work groups and special events

 

FCFI will lead to more responsible, positively engaged fathers present in the lives of their children. FCFI fathers will demonstrate the following outcomes:

  • Broadened communication skills
  • Renewed commitment to their role as a father
  • Increased child support awareness
  • Strengthened conflict resolution skills
  • Increased awareness of negative behavior patterns
  • Improved financial stewardship
  • Increased quality and quantity of time spent with the father’s children
  • Enhanced father-child relationships
  • Increased employability
  • Increased hope for the future

Our Mission

Our goal is to restore, equip and deploy fathers and male leaders in families, the faith community and throughout Lexington’s communities through a comprehensive, collaborative, neighborhood-based strategy.

  • Increased awareness of negative behavior patterns, including those leading to domestic violence

  • Increased quality and quantity of time spent with the father’s children
  • Enhanced father-child, co-parenting, and peer relationships

  • Deepened sense of hope for fathers, children, and family (future)
