Urban Impact: After-school Programming
Urban Impact uses programs to equip urban children, youth, and families to Grow, Succeed, and Lead within their neighborhoods.
Opportunity: Read to Succeed, a reading tutoring program designed for elementary students struggling to read on grade level. Volunteers are paired one on one with a child each week for individual reading time with club time occurring afterword. Students are encouraged to read aloud in the presence of their peers and caring adults.
Opportunity: The Academy, a holistic after school program designed to empower children to be successful academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. We focus on homework completion, leadership development, academic support and life skills.
Responsibilities: Volunteers meet one-on-one with a child, then participate in Club Time with the entire group.
Weekly Time Commitment: One hour per week, afternoons or evenings, depending on site
Length of Commitment: School year – September through May

Urban Impact uses programs to equip urban children, youth, and families to Grow, Succeed, and Lead within their neighborhoods.
Opportunity: In school mentoring is an on-site mentoring program, pairing volunteers with a small group of youth during school hours. There are opportunities to volunteer in elementary, middle, and high school groups.
Responsibilities: On-site mentors meet at designated school and assist youth in developing leadership skills, coordinating service projects, and tutoring as needed.
Weekly Time Commitment: 1 hour weekly or biweekly, depending on site
Length of Commitment: School year – September through May
