Amachi Lexington is the passionate response to serving children with an incarcerated guardian. Amachi matches youth 6-17 with people of faith and good will so they have the opportunity to achieve their highest potential.
(In 2009, Kentucky had the second highest rate of Children growing up with an incarcerated father in the country.)
A sub-initiative of Urban Impact, Leadership Academy is a youth violence prevention program for young people who have a high likelihood of perpetrating or becoming the victim of gun violence. It is rooted in a collection of the nation’s best evidence-based strategies, focusing on addressing trauma, providing educational and economic opportunity and safety.
We empower people of passion, but not just through volunteers, local congregations, school and businesses. We also help advise, counsel, incubate and launch non-profits. At LLF, Capacity Building is the development or strengthening of leadership, operations, processes, and resources that help sustain organizations that serve our city.
WOODHILL INTERNATIONAL MARKET
Believing all families have a right to access the healthy food they need to thrive, the Woodhill International Market is a bi-weekly locally grown and sourced fresh market. The Market serves 30 different nationalities through an income-based “share” model, operating from May to November.
WOODHILL COMMUNITY CENTER
The Woodhill neighborhood in southeast Lexington is home to 6,000 residents, living in less than a 1.5 square mile radius, who collectively speak 28 different languages. Since 2018, the Woodhill Community Center has served as the primary ministry hub for Lexington Leadership Foundation’s youth ministries.
CENTER FOR FATHERS & FAMILIES
The Center for Fathers and Families is the primary ministry hub for Lexington Leadership Foundation’s Fatherhood Initiative and offers space to respond to the needs of fathers and their families by providing programming and services that lead to emotional maturity, healthier relationships, and family growth.
"I GET ASKED ALL THE TIME, WHAT IS A LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION?"
"We develop leadership for the spiritual and social renewal of our city while tackling some of the community’s toughest problems, all to see the Kingdom come in Lexington as it is in heaven."
Christian Postel, CEO
Committed to city-wide transformation since 1999
We follow a biblical theme that yields transformation; think Noah & Nehemiah…
The Holy Spirit guides convergence among like-minded people of faith and good will, to come together to solve problems and restore brokenness in our city.
Prayer guides strategy, strategy guides execution. Efforts to create Christ-centered civic transformation require both great faith and great planning.
We bring key community stakeholders together, to partner with purpose; resourcing the implementation and execution of strategy.
Peace. Faith. Community. Equity. Justice. Education. Prosperity. Employment Opportunity. Affordable Housing. Emergency Services.
